RETURN TO WORSHIP

To our church family, friends and guest,

During the past several weeks, in response to the Coronavirus outbreak, we have had to cancel all physical gatherings of the congregation, including Sunday Worship and Bible Study. We have been using Facebook and Live Streaming for virtual worship, Bible Study and Conference Calling for meetings. This has been incredibly effective, thanks to you and our friends from other areas.

As you have heard, we have targeted June 21 as the date that we will began our transition back to Sanctuary Worship. However, the return to sanctuary worship must be gradual and with caution, beginning with a small group, growing gradually as conditions improve. We believe that this virus will be with us for a long time and we need to develop a plan and process to return to some kind of normal before it is completely gone.

As of now, there will be only one Worship service that will begin at 10:00AM each Sunday.

Also, beginning June 21, Sunday Word Study will be held through ZOOM. The Christian Education Ministry is in the process of conducting a poll to determine the best and most convenient time for the Study. This will be announced as soon as possible.

Our Task Force Team has been called upon to put together a plan for us to use to initiate and facilitate the return. Listed below are the recommendations from the Team that we will initiate and follow. Please for these guidelines.

1. All members are asked to be supportive and Pray for Divine Covering for our Church Family and all the otherchurches in their return to Worship
2. If you don’t feel comfortable returning to Worship at this time, remain sheltered-in-place and continue to share in Virtual Worship.
3. All members age 65 and over are encouraged to remain sheltered-in-place and continue to share in worship via Facebook and Live Stream.
4. All members with Immune system compromises are asked to remain sheltered-in-place and share in worship via Facebook and Live Stream. Doctors have recommended that we should caution these groups against returning to service:
        1. Chronic Lung disease
        2. Moderate to Severe Asthma
        3. Cancer patients
        4. Transplant patients
        5. HIV patients
        6. Sickle cell patients
        7. Severely obese (BMI over 40)
        8. Dialysis patients
        9. Chronic liver disease
      10. People on chronic steroids or other immune weakening meds
      11. Any other immunocompromised patients
This is directly from the CDC.
5. All persons entering the building are required to have their temperature checked at the entrance.
6. All persons entering the building are required to wear face covering throughout the time they are inside the building.
7. If you have been sick, had a cough or just do not feel well, please remain sheltered-in-place and continue to share in worship via Facebook and Live Stream.
8. Families, especially with children who live in the same home, are asked to sit together.
9. Until further notice there will be no choir. Music will beperformed by small components of our music ministry; no more than five at one time. Personal microphones and face-shields are required.
10. Everyone is asked to obey the rules and signs that will be posted throughout the sanctuary and adjoining facilities.
11. Water fountains will be turned off. Bottle water will be furnished.
12. The worship service will be limited to approximately one hour.
13. Tables with offering baskets and giving envelopes will be placed at the entrance and exit doors for giving.
14. At Altar Prayer time, all persons are asked to remain at your seat during the prayer.
15. During the period of Hospitality and Welcome, all personas are asked to remain at your seat and share greetings vocally and with hospitable gesturers (smiles, waves, etc.).
16. If there is a health issue, the attending nurse and/or physician must wear appropriate PPE. All others are asked to remain at distance.
17. The assembly will take place in the Sanctuary. With the seating arrangements (every other pew – 6’ apart), it is possible that the capacity for the Sanctuary might be reached. If this happens, the overflow will be directed to the Family Life Center.
18. All members and guests are strongly urged to follow the rules for entrance and exit, seating and Worship.

There will be Ministry Teams who will be on duty to ensure safety for everyone. Please be courteous and responsive as they attend to all of our needs and make us all safe.

The Building and Grounds Ministry will sanitize the building before and after Worship. Bathrooms will be cleaned and sanitized before, during and after worship.

Nurses will take temperatures and ensure that everyonesanitize in and has (on) a face mask.

Security will be on duty to provide safety and directions outside of the building and upon entering.
